Another superb collection of stories about Horrid Henry and his long-suffering family, illustrated in characteristic style by Tony Ross. As usual, in each scenario Horrid Henry - manipulative, tantrum-prone and cunning - somehow manages to come out on top. Henry's Halloween starts to go horribly wrong when he gives brother Perfect Peter a scary haircut - but somehow Henry still manages to swag all the sweets. He nearly meets his match in ferocious babysitter Rebecca - but gets his own way in the end. Henry's raids on Moody Margaret's Secret Club almost come unstuck - but in the end he's triumphant. He doesn't want to go to the christening of Prissy Polly's baby, Vomiting Vera, but Mum and Dad insist - then after a terrible journey, Henry gets to go home after all. All four stories are a guaranteed delight for 5- to 8-year-old little devils, and should raise some wry smiles among parents.
